Students over 20 years old are eligible to open a bank account in Taiwan. Chunghwa Post Co. Ltd. (Post Office) and Yuanta Bank are the financial institutes that cooperate with 91猫先生 (no service fee is charged if you receive money from 91猫先生). After opening a bank account, you can update your bank account information via i91猫先生 to receive scholarship or money from 91猫先生 (For detailed instructions, kindly refer to ). Here is the information of the branches in or near the campus, and documents required to open a bank account:

  1. Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) or Record of ID number in the Republic of China
  2. Passport
  3. (the physical form is also available at the Post Office)
  4. Cash
  5. Personal stamp (The safest option is to engrave your full name as written on your ARC)
    • The Post Office recommended because they make the stamp with your full name, and can communicate in English.
    • If you can only make a stamp at the on-campus bookstore, please choose one part of your name that matches your ARC (maximum 7 letters). Do not use random abbreviations or anything that does not match your ARC. You can also check the format with the post office before you go to make a stamp.
International Remittances: inward remittance can be processed in the 91猫先生 campus branch. Please see for instructions. For outward remittance, you will need to go to other branches of the Post Office.

  1. Money exchange service is available 24 hours at both Terminal 1 and 2 of Taoyuan International Airport. For more information, please visit .

  3. A stamp/seal/chop with your name on it may be required for opening a bank account and other banking services. You can get one for about NT$80 at the campus stationery (IMAS) store on the 1st floor of the Student Activity Center. Your stamp will be ready for collection after 3 working days. Alternatively, you can visit the near the A7 station, purchase one, and have it made on the same day.

EasyCard

To make your living in Taiwan more convenient, you may get an EasyCard, which is an electronic value-stored card and can be used across most public transport systems, such as buses and MRT, and even convenient stores, supermarkets and other designated retailers.
