说明
本研究团队研究主轴，包括认知及行為指标的发展、测量、评估与诊断；并探讨老化及疾病/失能对认知及行為指标的影响，及介入措施如何改变认知及行為指标等。最终将以美国及日本之群体老化资料库进行跨国比较分析。
背景
认知及行為层面的变项是老化过程中重要的指标，对新世纪的老年人来讲，认知功能的衰退及相关行為改变是重要的健康问题，不只会影响到老年人的生活品质，有一大部分可能进展到失智症(dementia)。研究显示，区分老化及疾病造成的认知功能与行為之改变，能协助疾病的诊断及发展适当的介入措施，而延缓失智的产生及进展，对整个社会人力及经济负荷的减轻有非常显着的助益。
目的
本群体计划的主轴為「老化过程之认知及行為指标」，主要目的為：
(1)发展认知及行為指标以利测量、评估与诊断；
(2)探讨老化及疾病/失能对认知及行為指标的影响；
(3)决定失智症处理与认知训练等介入措施对改变认知及行為指标之成效。
方法
(一)认知及行為指标的测量、评估与诊断部分，除相关量表的测试之外，将藉着影像及资讯科技，发展更精确及更全面性的评估诊断工具，包括林仲志教授，发展智慧型老化认知及行為资讯分析及侦测系统。资工系赵一平博士，发展认知功能缺损及失智症的磁振造影生物指标。此外，失智症中心徐文俊医师团队，对认知功能缺损及失智症患者之早期诊断、治疗及长期性追踪。(二)老化及疾病/失能对认知和行為指标的影响部分，将藉由对不同健康及失能、疾病状况老人的认知与行為指标，做长期的追踪，进一步瞭解健康及疾病对这些指标的影响，此部分的子计划包括：护理系黄子庭教授针对社区老人功能丧失及认知/行為指標改變的過程；護理系徐亚瑛教授探討髖關節骨折對老人認知/行為指标长期的影响；邱逸榛副教授针对认知缺损及失智症患者之预想记忆与回想记忆进行评估、测量。(叁)介入措施如何改变认知/行為指标部分，藉由不同的介入医疗及照护方式，探讨对认知功能缺损的老人，在接受这些介入措施后，认知/行為指标的改变，此部分的子计划包括林仲志教授探讨游戏方块对认知功能的影响；復健科裴育晟医师及资工系赵一平博士，探讨音乐对失智症患者认知/行為指標改變的成效；護理系邱逸榛副教授，探討照護管理模式對失智症患者的照護成效；徐亚瑛教授探討跨專業照護模式對老年病患創傷後認知功能的影響；黃子庭教授探討運動對社區老人認知功能的影響。此外，護理系黃秀梨博士探討末期失智症照護之成效。
