研究主题
本实验室以酵母菌(Saccharomyces cerevisiae)、人类细胞、和小鼠模式进行以下叁大主题之研究:
- 中草药/天然药物调控DNA修补之分子机转与应用
臨床研究顯示,許多中草药對於合併放射治療有一定的增效作用,其中一個分子原理,是利用中草药抑制細胞的DNA修补机制,来增加癌症细胞的放射线敏感性。因此研究中药物如何调控DNA修补之分子机制,将有助於设计和发展合併放射治疗的新药物。
- 中草药對壽命機制之調控與延長壽命/抗肥胖药物之筛选
目前筛选增加寿命药物的系统极少,本实验室利用一套新颖的筛选系统大量筛选具有延长寿命功效的药物,并研究其分子机制。针对人口老化日趋严重的社会现象,此类型健康食品可用於预防及治疗老化相关的病状,更可望大量减少未来老年人口的医疗资源支出,真正达到健康老化的最终目的。
