| 整体教学目标 | To help Ph.D. student to learn the scientific methods Students will learn: 1. Scientific integrity 2. Tips on writing an academic paper and tips on being published 3. How to make discoveries 4. How to improve English (for non native English speakers) 5. How to write a grant proposal |
| 教学方法 | For each topic, the instructor gives a lecture in the beginning, and students raise several questions, and then they have intensive discussions regarding those questions. Objective is given one week before the class. For two specific topics, “how to write abstract” and “where to be published”, students are requested to present their own opinions. This course is for graduate students, especially for students in Ph.D program. |
| 课程介绍 | This course dedicates to enable students apply sound scientific investigations to answer important questions in biomedical field. It is particularly suitable for those students who have desires to study science.Writing an academic paper remains a difficult, trying and intimidating task for many students. This course helps students to do the academic writing. Students may not only develop the ability to express themselves in words, but also the ability to conduct the research. |

| 成绩考核 | Grading is based on the following points: 1. Term papers (mid and final): 20% for each term paper (40% in total) 2. Presentations (twice): 15% for each presentation (30% in total) 3. Participations in discussion session: 20% 4. Attendance: 10% |
