| 整体教学目标 | The main objective of this course is to teach students how to obtain and apply different types of bioinformatics data from the internet. Students will also become proficient in using various bioinformatics software and take advantage of the high-speed computers at the university's bioinformatics center to engage in practical exercises, including hands-on online operations. |
| 教学方法 | There will be two core themes in the class: the analytical techniques that can be used to analyse biological data, and examples of the biological significance of such analyses. These themes will be intertwined within the class, typically with clusters of 1-2 hours that emphasize analytical and algorithmic issues, followed by 2-3 hours of more topical lectures addressing the biological issues addressed by sequence analysis. The central goal of the course will be to train students to think effectively about DNA sequences as a problem in information processing. |
