广东住血线虫是导致嗜伊红性脑膜炎的主要病原体。人类不慎感染后,虫体会侵犯人的中枢神经系统,引发脑部免疫反应,造成嗜酸性白血球聚集及细胞激素释放,导致致命病变。本研究室主要探讨宿主脑部与广东住血线虫感染之间的相关机制调控。
- 虫体与宿主之间相互作用
针对广东住血线虫排泄分泌产物进行研究,包含microRNA与蛋白质,比如disulfide-isomerases、calreticulin、aspartic protease与annexin等,探討与宿主分子機轉之關聯性。此外,目前也以體學針對广东住血线虫不同龄期幼虫之基因表现差异性进行分析,希望找出与蟲體感染及致病之重要基因,以供後續研究。
- 感染后宿主分子机转
研究广东住血线虫排泄分泌产物引起宿主脑部细胞之分子机转,并探讨Sonic hedgehog訊號路徑在其中參与之角色,釐清各讯号路径之相互关係。
- 治疗策略之评估
目前临床上治疗广东住血线虫症主要以症狀与支持療法為主,致今還未研發出最有效治療方法。本研究室欲以細胞及實驗動物層次,評估小鼠腦部細胞在广东住血线虫感染后,相关药物之治疗效果,提供未来广东住血线虫症治疗之参考。
