人脑创造了许多高科技的产物,甚至建造了超级电脑,可是我们对自己脑是如何运作的却依旧非常地模糊。揭开大脑是如何运作是一个令人着迷的问题,本实验室目前的研究主题主要是专注在情绪焦虑,认知学习记忆,生理运动,脑创伤和脑中风方面。研究的方法主要是以小鼠的动物模式,来探讨基因,脑神经细胞结构,生理贺尔蒙与动物行為,希望藉此来试着解开基因与神经的运作之谜。

目前实验室的研究有以下几个议题:

1) 个体成年后,脑中增生的新神经细胞其生理上的功能為何?
2) 運動如何讓腦神經細胞更健康,是透過如何機制?
3) 要如何讓年老的神經細胞年輕化?有哪些可能的候選因子?
4) 利用基因治療來修復腦創傷或是腦中風?
