4. Speaker Introduction: Jorge E. Galán, D.V.M, Ph.D
Jorge E. Galán is the Lucille P. Markey Professor of Microbial Pathogenesis and Cell Biology at Yale School of Medicine, and a member of the NAS, NAM, and AAAS. A pioneer in Salmonella pathogenesis, his research integrates microbiology, cell biology, and immunology to unravel the mechanics of the type III secretion system and typhoid toxin. His findings have significantly advanced our understanding of host-pathogen interactions and paved the way for novel vaccines and antimicrobial strategies.
