1. The Venerable Master Hsing Yun Education Foundation, established as a public charitable trust, launched the Hsing Yun Education Award in 2012 to recognize outstanding educators who uphold educational ideals, exemplify the spirit of teaching, strive to enhance educational quality, and inspire students to pursue goodness and personal growth. The award aims to promote excellence in education and establish exemplary role models for educators.
2. Professor Ho-Chang Kuo of the School of Medicine has devoted his career to the clinical care, research, and educational promotion of Kawasaki disease, a serious pediatric illness. Guided by the principle of “early recognition, timely treatment, and prevention of cardiac complications,” he has transformed complex medical knowledge into accessible health education for the general public. He has developed a comprehensive educational framework encompassing children's picture books, parent education guides, physician reference books, and English-language medical textbooks. In addition, he created the widely recognized “1-2-3-4-5 Mnemonic Rule” for Kawasaki disease awareness and has delivered more than 644 public health education lectures, reaching tens of millions of people. Through his leadership in innovative healthcare initiatives and international collaborations, Professor Kuo has helped bring Taiwan’s achievements in medical education and research to the global stage. Remaining true to his mission, he continues to embody the belief that “education illuminates healthcare, knowledge safeguards lives, and more children can be protected from heart damage.”
